Google Bots Slowing Down?
Google Bots Slowing Down?
by Zig Noda
About a year ago I had a blog at www.compuwisdom.com (which has now morphed into a site promoting my network marketing business).
During that time I was testing various blogging platforms and other things. What amazed me that within a week Google was indexing some of my posts within 10 minutes! Yes, it’s true, I would write an article and just a few minutes later it was findable on a google search.
Recently it seems that things may have slowed down. Now that google owns YouTube and the fact that google has counted one trillion pages recently it seems that indexing pages so quickly *may* not be the priority it once was.
I’m sure most of google’s server strengh and bandwith is being used for YouTube, gmail, googletalk calls, running the company and counting how many pages it’s indexed. Of course this is pure speculation.
But just how big is the number trillion? When I was a kid I thought a trillion was just a bogus word meaning lots of millions, and that’s partially true, but it’s NOT a bogus word…it’s twelve zeros…
1,000,000,000,000
Which is one million Million (no that’s not a typo) or
One thousand Billion
In others words it’s a heckofa lot! So maybe this explains why google is taking longer these days to index sites. Again of course this is pure speculation. Maybe the time is the same as before and my blog here is just junk.
Sure this blog is new and there’s not much content yet, but it will get there and only time will tell if google’s bots are slowing down because of all the added load on their servers from all their growth and expansion.
